Smiles lit the faces of each and every politician and artist who lined the steps of City Hall during Monday's (June 11) African-American Music Appreciation Month ceremony in Manhattan. As one of the evening's honored guests, Lil Kim proved to be no exemption as she clapped, waved, and smiled during the event.

Numerous video clips from the occasion have gone viral among fans who recognize her receiving a proclamation from the city of New York as an uplifting moment amid the sea of reports that have had her avoiding questions of financial hardship. The most popular snippet is one that shows Styles P and Maino speaking on Kim's significance to NYC's rap music landscape - before she is handed the framed document and delivers a speech on her own behalf. At one point during their exchange, Maino cracks a joke, which led Kim to playfully call him "crazy."

In a separate clip that has been going around, Maino comes off just as playful, as he gets a couple of pinches off while posing behind the Queen Bee. In between her expressions, Kim can be seen passing whispers back and forth with her fellow Brooklynite.

For the record, it has long been rumored that Kim and Maino were once an item. In 2016, the former Bad Boy rapper addressed rumors that were going around about her possibly having plans to wed Maino in a tweet that read: "They tried it..Married? LMAO We're just really good friends." It was also speculated that Maino's bars on his 2012 joint "I Still Love You" were inspired by an alleged relationship between the two rappers.
