It might have taken awhile for Drake to receive official acknowledgment for the work that he put in as a contributor on Kanye West's latest project, but that day has finally come along to affirm for him the old adage - that 'it's better late than never.'

Fans can cite Drizzy laying a veiled claim to services rendered on the Ye album - when in his "Duppy Freestyle" he spits "I just left from over by Y'all, puttin' pen to the sheets." The line caps off a string of bars that the OVO rapper crafted with intentions of contesting the ghostwriting innuendo that Pusha T incorporated into the opening moments of his Daytona closer ("Infrared").

Those whose curiosity had them eagerly anticipating the June 1st release of Yeezy's own Wyoming recording, would for nearly two weeks be left without answers concerning which song Drake might have been referring to on Duppy. Seeing how his name was nowhere to be found on the tracklisting, many had gone on to conclude that perhaps Drake indeed did collab on a song with the Chicago great, but it was left off of the joint in hindsight of the beef that suddenly consumed their relationship.

But then Peter Rosenberg dropped a dime during an episode of Ebro In The Morning, and confirmed that Drake had actually written the hook for "Yikes."

On Wednesday, June 13 that fact was finally seconded by fans who began spotting Aubrey Graham's name in the credits for the song. Tidal has updated its streams to list his name among the 11 lyricists and composers behind the record - thereby validating the 6 God's claim.
