T.I. is often outspoken about social justice matters, frequently sharing his opinions on social media spaces like Instagram and Twitter. In his latest post, Tip posted an article about Colin Kaepernick's legal team set to issue subpoena's to President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.
"Follow the squeals... Find da pig!!! Let the games begin!!! #USorELSE," T.I. wrote in his caption.
Kaepernick has filed a grievance against the NFL, alleging that owners have colluded to keep him out of the league. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback has been a free agent since he opted out of his contract in 2017. While some have alleged that Kaepernick is no longer the QB he was once was, several other quarterbacks continued to get signed, some of whom didn't play as well Kaepernick, and a couple hadn't even played in years.
Kaepernick contends that he has been blackballed from the NFL because he started the protest of kneeling during the national anthem, which he did to bring change to racism, inequality, oppression, and police brutality against black people.
Trump has not only spoken to NFL owners about the protests, he has also been very vocal both on Twitter and during his rallies that every NFL player should stand during the national anthem and those that do not should be fired. The NFL has since changed it's player policy, allowing players to stay off the field during the anthem, but those that are on the field must stand or face fines and further disciplinary action.
Kaepernick's legal team is expected to go directly at Trump in the coming weeks.
