The beef between Drake and Pusha-T is still the biggest topic of discussion in hip-hop right now even though it's been called off. J. Prince making the call for Drake to not respond to Push's "The Story of Adidon" has taken over as the major point of debate. It also has people reflecting on past legendary hip-hop beefs, which Diddy did during a recent interview with Big Boy.

As everyone knows, the East Coast/West Coast beef between Biggie Smalls and 2Pac was among the biggest in hip-hop. A defining moment in that beef was when 2Pac released the diss track "Hit Em Up," which was accompanied by a video with characters portraying Diddy, Biggie, Faith Evans and others. Diddy says when he was asked about Drake not responding, he "respected it," because he had to make the same call to Biggie telling him they're not responding to Pac's track (30:36).

"Like when we had got hit with 'Hit Em Up,' I had to make the call to Biggie and I said, 'we not going to respond.' Somebody's going to get hurt if we respond." He said, "I could understand [Drake's] perspective because 2Pac hit us with 'Hit Em Up' and that joint was cold."

Diddy says they would take DJ's turntables if they played "Hit Em Up," that it was that bad at the time, but he ultimately was able to let it go and found humor in the video. Though Diddy made that call not to respond, fearing things would go too far, unfortunately, did as both 2Pac and Biggie were killed.

Most people didn't see Pusha-T and Drake's beef going further than wax and social media jokes but J. Prince says he pulled the plug on releasing Drake's response because it could end Pusha-T's and Kanye West's careers and the mention of families could ultimately lead to things going another level. Prince also mentioned that he received an anonymous text message telling him to "Keep Pusha-T's name out of your mouth," along with names and addresses of people he knows. With Prince's history along with the ominous text, it might indeed be best to end things before they go too far.
