The NBA Finals were slated to be a lopsided affair between the heavily favored Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. After a highly competitive Game 1 that saw LeBron James drop 51 points, a series of events led to the Cavs heartbreaking loss. One of the plays that were emblematic of the heartbreak came after JR Smith snatched an offensive rebound off a missed free-throw by George Hill, but instead of going back up with the ball Smith dribbled it out unwittingly running out the clock in a tied ballgame. Smith later told the media that he knew the game was tied but was looking for a timeout which is the furthest thing from the truth.

The play instantly became a viral meme but not everyone was making JR the butt of the joke. Kobe Bryant took to Twitter to offer JR some straightforward advice telling him that it was indeed a boneheaded play but simply, "move on."

JR and the Cavs will look to move on as they are set to play Game 2 this Sunday.
