Kanye West started off his social media engagement on Thursday (May 24) by plugging Pusha T's latest offering as a well-received first release from his anticipated slate of Wyoming recordings. Then by nightfall, the GOOD Music chief returned to Twitter to deliver a final word of praise, only this time, he allowed Diddy to echo his sentiments.
"A modern day masterpiece. Flawless hip-hop gem. Classic but current. In realtime! A true classic! #Daytona the album. #KingPush," Ye's tweet of a handwritten note inked and signed by the Bad Boy mogul read.
Earlier in the day, Kanye revealed that it took a year and a half of writing and mining for samples to complete Daytona. The brevity of the 7-song project has garnered a mixed reaction from fans, with some feeling like 21 minutes just doesn't satisfy the yearning they've had for a follow-up to King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude, and others digesting the short and sweet concept as a fine antidote to the lengthy albums rappers have been putting out for the sake of streaming data, of late.
Diddy, for one, aligns with the latter take in the debate on Daytona's brief but potent lyrical onslaught. In fact, he'd go on to tell his followers on Instagram that he finds it to be Push's "best body of work."
