Meek Mill beat the odds when he was released from jail last month. The MMG rapper has been entangled with the justice system for a decade, based on charges he received from a corrupt cop. Now that Meek is out on bail, he's wasting no time using his platform to address the corruption within the justice system.

Last week, it was reported that Meek Mill would be going to the White House. The details of his visit were not fully revealed, but it was concluded that Meek would be meeting with lawmakers to discuss prison reform. Days later, a rumor hit the internet claiming that JAY-Z convinced Meek not to visit the White House.

Meek sat down on Power 99 on Wednesday and addressed the rumor, stating that it was not Jay who convinced him not to go. He explained that lawmakers were putting together a bill that addressed many of the same issues that he was fighting for. Meek uses the example of women being shackled to beds while giving birth in prison. Lawmakers were pushing to change inhumane laws such as that one, and Meek was invited to a conference about the bill. He chose not to go because, "Me and the president represent two different types of things. Like I said, there's two Americas, and I'm really representing the other side of America."
