Former Major League Baseball star Lenny Dykstra was back behind bars in New Jersey for another drug-related offense, on Wednesday, May 23 - only this time he is also alleged to have threatened violence against an Uber driver who supposedly refused his orders to change the destination of a ride.

Dykstra is no stranger to jail. Since his retirement from the game in the mid-1990's the man once famously known as "Nails" has compiled a rap sheet of crimes that range from sexual harassment and assault to identity theft and grand theft auto. He has also carried out a long public battle with drug addiction and been known to go off the rails with his temper.

According to the alleged victim of the latest incident, Dykstra flipped out when at some point during the early morning ride he dialed for, his spur of the moment request to be taken elsewhere was declined. That's when the driver says he felt something stiff being placed to his head and Dykstra telling him that he would do him harm if he did not comply. The driver would get to a police station in Linden at around 3:30 a.m. where he filed the report that would later lead to the fallen athlete's arrest.

Upon searching belongings that Dykstra had in the vehicle, officers recovered cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana - although, no weapon was found. He would be booked for narcotics possession and making terroristic threats.

Dykstra has since maintained that he is innocent of the latter charge, claiming that it was him, and not his accuser, who wound up scared he was being steered off course. "He f***ing kidnapped me and almost killed me going 100 mph. He locked me in his f***ing car, and he wouldn't let me out,” he is reported as having told the New York Daily News.
