Starting on Monday, June 25, game show fans who remember Double Dare will get to tune in to watch a fresh reboot of the classic Nickelodeon production. In an update on the 40-episode plan, which was initially announced some months ago, Nick confirmed the start date and new host it looks forward to bringing aboard, in "Freakish" YouTube star Liza Koshy.

Several iterations of Double Dare have been delivered to television audiences since the original ended its seven-year run in 1993. Among them was a reunion special that Nick at Night aired in commemoration of the show's 30th anniversary in 2016. The coming run will mark the 1986 upstart's official revival, with host Marc Summers returning to pitch his day-one knowledge about the contests that will be on display alongside Koshy. Both Summers and Koshy will also oversee operations as co-executive producers along with Peter Herschko and Josh Silberman.

Those who grew up watching Double Dare will recall how two teams would compete through obstacle courses and trivia questions for the sake of taking home prizes. It remains to be seen whether Nickelodeon will bring back such favorite challenges as the human hamster wheel, the gigantic mouth, and the Double Dare nose - or if the plan is to start anew with competitions that more-so speak to the times.
