Nobody expected the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets series to be an easy one. Although the Warriors are heavily favored to win the series, the Rockets defeated them by 22 points on Wednesday, showing the nation that they should not be slept on. Kevin Durant led all players with 38 points, but his teammates weren't there to back him up. Steph Curry had a slow night, scoring only 16 points, while Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, and Klay Thompson posted only 19 points between them.
On the other side of the court, James Harden and Eric Gordon scored 27 points apiece for the Rockets. P.J. Tucker added 22 points, while Chris Paul logged 16. The Rockets were on fire, and looked like they were on top of their game on Wednesday. Like usual, Stephen A. Smith had some choice words for the Warriors after the loss.
"You have to give all the credit in the world to Mike D'Antoni," begins Smith. "You had reduction from your role players, and it showed that when you move the basketball, and you share the basketball, and get these guys involved, they're capable of doing it."
"Golden State should be worried," continued Smith. "'Cause you gotta get some production. Draymond Green and Klay Thompson can't combine for 14 points. That can't happen. Steph Curry can't shoot 1 of 8 from three-point range."
