It appears Master P believes he would be the “perfect coach” for the Toronto Raptors.
The Raptors are searching for a new head coach after firing Dwane Casey on Friday, May 11, according to ESPN. Casey led the team to the best record in the Eastern Conference. However, the top-seeded Raptors were swept out of the playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers. While Casey was named coach of the year in a vote by his NBA peers, according to No Limit Records boss, Master P, the Raptors would have the right guy in their organization if they picked him for the job.
During a conversation with TMZ on Monday, Master P said that he understands the quality of coach the Raptors had with Casey, but he suggests that with the talent on the team should still be in the playoffs.
“I think I would be the perfect coach for Toronto,” P explained. “Because I understand the team, I understand the players, Toronto has two all-stars, and if you look at it right now, you should have went further.”
Master P knows the franchise well. He played for the Raptors during the 1999 preseason. The mogul has ties to Raptors star DeMar DeRozan as he sponsored his AAU team.
