Spotify will no longer be allowing the music of R.Kelly and XXXTentacion to grace their in-house playlists, according to Billboard.

The move comes after the company made its new hate content and hateful conduct public policy effective on Thursday, May 10. The new change in policy will cause both artist’s music to vanish from popular playlists created by the streaming platform.

"We are removing R. Kelly’s music from all Spotify owned and operated playlists and algorithmic recommendations such as Discover Weekly,” Spotify told Billboard in a statement on Thursday.

However, Spotify says they will continue to provide R.Kelly’s music on the platform. "His music will still be available on the service, but Spotify will not actively promote it,” Spotify told Billboard. “We don’t censor content because of an artist’s or creator’s behavior, but we want our editorial decisions -- what we choose to program -- to reflect our values. When an artist or creator does something that is especially harmful or hateful, it may affect the ways we work with or support that artist or creator."

As for XXXTentacion, according to the New York Times, a representative for the company confirmed that the rapper had been affected by the new rule, causing his music to be pulled from featured playlists as well.
