Kanye West is facing a mountain of backlash from his peers. His support of Donald Trump and Candace Owens, wearing the Make America Great Again hat, his comments on slavery being a choice, and his blatant disregard for the state of American politics today have almost ostracized him from the hip-hop community. 'Ye, who once told the world that George Bush didn't care about Black people, was heralded as a Black hero. Now, he is seen as a traitor and an enemy to Black culture.
"I think that the worst thing African Americans have done in the last 60 years is marry ourselves to a political party and a political ideology," stated Killer Mike in an interview with the NRA about gun rights earlier this year.
With that sentiment in mind, having a Black Republican, or a Black Libertarian should be viewed as a good thing. Black people need more seats at every table, to make sure their voices are powerful in every political conversation, everywhere. Kanye could have supported the Republican party in a much smarter fashion though, and Uncle Snoop Dogg has had it with 'Ye's support of Republicans and their ideologies. In an Instagram post where a photoshopped picture of a white-version of Kanye West is on full display, Snoop wrote, "The new. Kanye well allwhite now way to go dude."
