A lot of casual sneakerheads might not be knowledgeable of Jordan Brand's charitable acts throughout the company's history, but the proceeds of this particular sneaker benefited the victims of the catastrophic Hurricane Katrina that decimated the city of New Orleans in 2005. The hurricane cost the city $125 billion in damages and many lives were lost due to the natural disaster. Now, the sneaker that raised thousands for the city of New Orleans will be available to the general public.

The sneaker features a white tumbled leather base complete with grey elephant print textured mudguards, an embossed Jumpman logo in black placed at the heel of the sneaker, 'Fire Red' detailing that hits the embroidered Jumpman logo, tongue lining, forefoot shoelace eyelets, midsole, and outsole. The sneaker also comes with the notorious AJ III hangtag for a nostalgic touch as well as a visible AIR cushioning unit installed in the sole of the silhouette.

Now, the once unaccessible Air Jordan III 'Katrina' will be available for the masses to indulge in come May 12th for a retail price tag of $190.
