Adult entertainment site Pornhub will be accepting a cryptocurrency as a form of payment for their premium content, according to reports. The site will now accept Verge cryptocurrency, a move that would give users who wouldn’t want credit card statements to show purchases of mature content more anonymity.

“It’s an anonymous additional form of payment,” Corey Price, Pornhub Vice President said in a statement on Tuesday, April 17. ”Offering privacy-focused payment options is something we have been looking to do for a while.”

The cryptocurrency first launched in 2014 under the moniker DogecoinDark before rebranding in 2016. According to Pornhub, Verge keeps users anonymous through “obfuscating the IP address and geolocation of its users so that they are untraceable.”

While Bill Gates has suggested that the lack of regulation and the anonymity of cryptocurrencies poses a threat to governments worldwide, Pornhub is calling the electronic currency a means to modernization.

“Not only is this an exciting announcement for us and the adult entertainment industry, it’s exciting for the crypto space,” Price wrote. “History has proven that the adult entertainment industry plays a critical role in adoption for innovative technology. We saw that with VHS, Beta Max, credit card payment icons and, most recently, VR goggles. We expect to see widespread adoption of crypto and blockchain in short order."
