After two African-American men were arrested in a Philadelphia Starbucks for no reason, reports are noting that 8000 of the store’s locations are being shut down for an afternoon so that employees can be educated about racial bias.

CNN Money noted the racial bias training would take place on May 29, 2018, and will be administered to almost 175,000 employees.

Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson issued a statement saying “I've spent the last few days in Philadelphia with my leadership team listening to the community, learning what we did wrong and the steps we need to take to fix it.”

He continued saying “While this is not limited to Starbucks, we're committed to being a part of the solution. Closing our stores for racial bias training is just one step in a journey that requires dedication from every level of our company and partnerships in our local communities."
