Bay Area rapper Mummy 500 was arrested after he allegedly committed two home burglaries while being on parole for residential burglary.

According to NBC Bay Area, Mummy 500, real name Victor Bell, 24, is accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of electronics and jewelry from a home in Redwood City and the other in East Palo Alto. He was allegedly tracked down by one of the homeowners who used a surveillance photo to find him on the internet.

"Outstanding work by the victims in each case that gave information to the police that led us to him," San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.

After posting the photo, the homeowner identified Bell after finding his music video on YouTube. The video in question shows Bell rapping about burglarizing homes.

"When defendants do this type of action, they're stupid, and that's just a stupid act,” Wagstaffe said. "We view that not dissimilar than if he were sitting in an interview room with a detective and told the detective 'I like to commit burglaries.'"

According to police, Bell was arrested when he went to meet with his parole officer. "He went to his parole office to meet with his parole officer on March 7th of this year, wearing jewelry from both burglaries," Wagstaffe said.

Bell is currently in Redwood City jail. His bail is set at $75,000, and he is due back in court on May 31.
