In the summer of 2017, JAY-Z and Beyonce purchased an $88 million Los Angeles mansion after the arrival of their twins, Sir and Rumi. The Bel-Air compound is approximately 30,000 square feet consisting of six buildings, a basketball court, four outdoor pools, eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. Now, the Carter family is adding an extensive upgrade to their home.

TMZ reports that the superstar couple is planning to construct a state of the art security compound around their estate to improve safety. According to the gossip site, the expansion will consist of living quarters and security guard rooms. The will also be an additional two-car garage and a 10-car carport that will face the back road of the estate.

The addition of a security compound comes months after the couple announced their joint tour On the Run II which will kick off in June in the United Kingdom. The Carters will headline 15 shows overseas before heading back to the states for a national tour.

Beefing up security is believed to be a measure to protect their home even further because of the string of celebrity-targeted robberies that have taken place in LA within the past few months. It seems to be a great measure considering Hov upped his net worth within the last year from $810 million to $900 million.
