Russ took to Twitter to address the continual hate he receives from trolls on the Internet. The "What They Want" rapper got his rise on Soundcloud and took control of his music career. He makes frequent comments on how his music is self-produced, and he handles all aspects of the songwriting, production, engineering, mixing, and mastering.
He also frequently talks candidly about his ability to sell out shows across the world, and he even took on drug rap in a few of his posts calling it lame. Despite having a growing career, there's one thing that Russ cannot shake, and that's people on social media hating on his plight as a rapper.
He called out those people in a tweet posted yesterday (April 2). "It’s a trendy thing to hate on me on this app, I get it. I love it. It’s promo. The reality is trends die tho. Truth lasts forever. Ain’t shit stopping this. Shows only gettin bigger. Plaques keep multiplying. Fanbase keeps growing. Shit is lovely " he wrote.
When a fan commented on the confusion of the hate Russ receives, he shed light on the fact it may have to do with his strong personality. "I tell the truth. Wildly confident. No filter. 3 things a large amount of people in the world has always and will always have a problem with," Russ responded. "Is what it is. You can never stop bein you tho just cuz it offends ppl who didn’t even contribute to your success. Remember yourself."
