Shabrika Bailey, the ex-girlfriend of Seahawks player Trevone Boykin, spoke through a wired shut jaw about how the NFL player broke her jaw in two places after an argument over a text message on her phone. Bailey claims that she refused to show Boykin a phone, leading to an argument that she says led to an assault.

She recalled the assault, telling Dallas' WFAA, "So he goes into a choke. I remember him choking me and I'm trying to calm him down. And I just couldn't. And I blacked out. I just couldn't calm him down at all. The pressure was just hard. The pressure got hard to where I just remember just collapsing completely. And I just woke up in a puddle of blood on the kitchen floor. My whole right side was full of blood on the kitchen floor."

Bailey says that Boykin then put her in the bathtub and tried to clean her up, and later took her to Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite. When the two were questioned separately at the hospital, Boykin reportedly fled and never returned to the hospital.

Bailey was airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas after suffering breathing problems, and she was released three days later. She claims that Boykin asked her to lie about her injuries and cover for him to keep his NFL career.

Boykin was released from the Seahawks following the incident, and the former TCU player denies that he assaulted Bailey. He told WFAA, "This person has fabricated a story and it has cost me my job."
