A tweet that has been trending across social media has been the envy of fans of The Simpsons since it was shared by a U.K. police department last week. To the disbelief of most, the post shows off a Homer Simpson driver's license that one driver reportedly tried to pass as his own after being pulled over for a traffic violation.

According to the Thames Valley police Twitter page, an officer conducting a routine stop in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire couldn't believe her eyes when she was handed I.D. complete with Homer's name, birthday and name.

All but the address was botched, as all die-hard viewers know the Simpson family lives at 742 Evergreen Terrace in Springfield, and not '28, Springfield Way.' At the moment the officer might not have picked up on such meticulous detail, but she surely got a look at the animated image posing with his famous “D’oh” expression.

Thames Valley confirmed in the tweet that "The driver's car was seized and he was reported for driving with no insurance and driving without a proper license." In addition to providing details on how the March 11 run-in unfolded, the department's page made light of the whole situation by quoting Homer's “D’oh!” phrase to complete the post.
