Terry Crews had a #MeToo moment last year when he admitted that infamous Hollywood agent Adam Venit grabbed his genitals at a party that the two attended. Venit, who allegedly was drunk and horsing around, was sued by Crews for sexual assault. The case was dismissed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney and L.A. City Attorney.

In an interview with BuzzFeed, Crews talks about the culture that surrounds his workplace. "People don’t understand that Hollywood is a very violent place,” Crews states. He continued on to say, "The best way to put it is that it’s like a plantation. You use extreme violence. You see a lot of people who never work again. For even speaking up the whole thing is that they cut your head off so that the next person doesn’t speak."

He also stated, "They lead this thing through shame. [They] shame you so you feel like you gotta hide in the house...[But] once you get rid of shame, you get to step off the slave plantation. And I get to be free. This is a good thing."

The D.A.'s office dismissed the case because the assault was not considered a felony charge. Then, the sexual assault case was sent to the Los Angeles City Attorney, but it was decided that the groping occurred past the statute of limitations, which is one year.
