By the accounts of most experts, the chances of Colin Kaepernick getting picked up by an NFL team at this point are slim to none. But the reluctance of coaches and owners to give him a look hasn't stopped the former 49'ers star from training to keep himself in pro football shape.

On Thursday (March 15) a couple of videos surfaced on social media to show the athlete-turned-activist throwing passes under the watchful eye of William Paterson University Sports Performance Head, Josh Hidalgo. In the recordings, a beefy Kaep works on his accuracy and timing as the easy winds of Houston blow through his fro. In addition to the pair of clips that provide sight of him slinging from two separate angles, footage of him working out in the gym also went viral.

TMZ quotes Hidalgo as saying that he's been working with Kaepernick almost daily since January of 2017. "We haven't stopped throwing, training and preparing," he is reported as saying. "To say he's dedicated is an understatement ... Even when we’re traveling we put in that work."

Kaepernick took a couple of calls and met with the Seattle Seahawks last off-season, but he was otherwise avoided by what was a huge class of franchises in search of talent at the quarterback position at the time. As a result, a number of QB's with questionable backgrounds and skillsets were picked up as news on a possible Kaepernick signing gradually disappeared.

Over the course of a few months whispers that the former Super Bowl contending play-caller might've been blackballed began to grow into cries for justice. When the pre-season rolled around a new crop of protesters began to show their faces, thereby proving that his protest movement would live on whether or not he took the field.
