Amber Rose shared her thoughts on why the #MeToo Movement has become “frustrating” for her during a recent interview with The Raw Word hosted by Michael Eric Dyson and Claudia Jordan. Rose, who has been a long advocate for women’s right, slammed the crusade taking over Hollywood for the bias against minority groups, especially black women

“It’s kind of very frustrating to me because all of a sudden, feminism became such a mainstream thing,” Amber explained. “Now that white. No shade, white rich actresses start coming out and saying, ‘Me too, me too. But what happened to all of us?”

While women of color in Hollywood such as Lupita Nyong’o, Gabrielle Union, and Rosario Dawson have come out against harassment in the industry, Rose believes the movement has left several groups out. “What happened to the strippers, and the LGBTQ community?” Rose said “And the black girls in college. You know no one wanted to talk about these people.”

Rose closed her remarks comparing the lack of representation for minority groups in the #MeToo movement to the pay gap for black actresses in Hollywood compared to their white counterparts.

“Going past that, even, like, black women don’t even make half as much as white women in movies,” Rose said. “I feel like it’s really gonna take, unfortunately, a white actress to come out and say, ‘Hey, black women need to make as much as we do in movies,’ for it to actually be a change.”
