Boxer Gervonta "Tank" Davis may have a WBA Super World Super Featherweight title fight against Jesus Marcelo Andres Cuellar lined up for April 21, but it appears that he may be looking past the ring for an opportunity in the Octagon. Over the weekend the 23-year-old Baltimore native released a tweet expressing his interest in crossing over into mixed martial arts.

“I think I want to fight in the UFC,” Davis tweeted on Saturday night, March 10. When challenged by UFC bantamweight Brian Kelleher on exactly how serious he would be to get in the cage and mix it up with a brawler from a different discipline, Davis replied by posing that the division doesn't matter - he'd take all comers. “Any one ill beat all y’all a**,” he said.

Davis' tweet comes only days after UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley confirmed that he has been in contact with Davis' mentor, Floyd Mayweather Jr. about training for a possible match-up against one of Dana White's fighters. Thus far through his career, Davis is 19-0 with 18 wins by way of knockout. He is the 4th ranked super featherweight in the world, and the 2nd ranked in the division nationally.

UFC lightweight title contender Kevin Lee also chimed in on Tank's declaration, tweeting back that he was game to go at it. “My brother with all that. Let’s set it up, you not about that,” Lee wrote.
