Calls are growing louder for the U.S. government to restart an investigation into possible alien life forms after declassified videos were leaked to show a U.S. Navy F-18s encountering what appears to be a UFO.
On Friday, March 9, NASA advisor Hal Puthoff and CIA official James Semivan released the footage through their To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science (TTSA) research group. The TTSA was able to obtain the recordings thanks to Puthoff's connections as a contractor with the U.S. Department of Defense.
In one 35-second clip captured via an infrared camera, the men manning a Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet during a flight along the East Coast in 2015 could be heard shouting excitedly as they observe wingless/tail-less objects darting by before their very eyes. "What ... is that thing?" one of the giddy pilots asks as he tries to make out what type the approx. 40-foot long aircraft could be from 25,000 feet in the air.
It is the second time in four months that footage capturing a sighting of a similar nature got out to the public. Back in December, The New York Times published a story that linked readers to a recording that featured multiple pilots reacting as they spot an egg-shaped aircraft said to have peeled away from a fleet of similar objects. Defense Department officials have reportedly documented more than a dozen such sightings by fighters since 2015.
The Department began an initiative to look into UFO sightings back in 2007, but $22 million the program was discontinued in 2012.
