Chicago rapper King Louie is suing his record label for unpaid royalties. Louie is alleging that there is a "breach of contract" by the label Lawless, Inc. The two are now at odds over $50,000 that the Drillminati rapper believes he is owed.

According to Louie, the parent label constructed a distribution deal that allows Lawless, Inc. to seek contracts with other entities without the rapper's permission. Louie is claiming that he never signed off on that and their initial signing deal has long been over. Louie is seeking the $50K for royalty payments that coincide with "significant airtime and digital play and otherwise generated significant purchases by the general public."

In order to prove his claims, Louie will need to request that the label provides the financial records associated with his contract and the money earned from his music. There's no word on when the label and Louie will face off in court.

Outside of his music, King Louie has spoken out about the violence in Chicago. The Drill rapper was a victim of gun violence in December of 2015 when he was shot in the head in the Ashburn neighborhood. He received well wishes from Kanye West and a visit from Minister Farrakhan.
