There are so many unsolved murders in hip-hop, that it seems like the police just don't care when another rapper is gunned down. Aside from Tupac and Biggie, legends like Scott La Rock, Jam Master Jay, and Big L were slaughtered in the streets, and their families will never know what truly happened to their loved ones.

Last year, up and coming rapper BTY YoungN, who was born Desmone Jerome, was fatally shot outside of a Shell gas station in Hollygrove, New Orleans. He was murdered just days before he was scheduled to meet with Cash Money Records regarding the signing of a record deal.

Darryl Bannister Jr. and Kyron Williams were arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the killing. Surveillance footage from the Shell station reveals that a phone was dropped and left behind by one of the two gunmen who murdered BTY YoungN. Police found Bannister's iPhone on the ground near the rapper's body. Bannister claimed that he lost the phone at a party on the night of the shooting. Kyron Williams' DNA was identified on the phone, prompting police to arrest him after Bannister.

According to The Times-Picayune, court records state that the murder charges against both Williams and Bannister were dismissed on February 23. Based upon the totality of evidence available, we decided it was not prudent to proceed to trial at this time," stated Ken Daley, the spokesman for the district attorney's office. He also stated that the investigation is still ongoing.
