Workers at a Canadian oil refinery are celebrating their winnings as they became overnight millionaires after picking a lottery jackpot. According to reporters, 31 individuals, all winners worked together at the oil refinery in the town Come By Chance, in a town with a population of 228 people.

Members of the group, who also happened to be in the same trade union bought tickets together for three months. This group is now dividing one of the highest jackpots in Canadian history, receiving C$1.9 million each.

Sherry Moore Hickey, a woman who purchased the groups winning ticket from a petrol station stated, "we throw in $5 each, so we had $155 worth of tickets." She added, "I made 28 other phone calls to tell the group members individually that we had the winning ticket. They had some choice words for me as they thought I was joking."

A few workers promptly made their decisions in retiring immediately. However, a few other members of the group decided to go back to work to finish an ongoing project at the refinery. Moore Hickey continued, "We want to ensure when we leave, we leave our membership in good standing.”

These newly millionaires are deciding to pay off mortgages with the money. Others have mentioned new cars and investing their money.
