Donald Trump was his usual self when he took to the podium at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Oxon Hill, Maryland on Friday, Feb. 23.

Not long into his speech, he quit reading from the teleprompter and prepared the audience for what was about to come by calling the engagement boring up until that point. He then strayed from the script and in no time was boasting about the fruit of his accomplishments in the fashion that Americans have come to expect he would.

"This administration, I think, has had the most successful first year in the history of the Presidency," he said. "I really believe that. I really believe it."

As hyperbolic as the claim might have come off, it did gain applause from the crowd. Trump then carried on with the gloating about the Obama-era regulations he pulled back, the tax cuts legislation he passed, and more.

He was also sure to warn his GOP supporters to be aware of when they find themselves getting too comfortable, and stressed the importance of rallying the troops back up for the next election cycle.

Don’t be complacent. Okay, don’t be complacent, because if they get in, they will repeal your tax cuts, they will put judges in that you wouldn’t believe. They’ll take away your Second Amendment, which we will never allow to happen," he said.
