Terri Silar of Tampa used to Facebook to bring attention to traumatizing racism in her place of work.

Hillsborough County deputies were brought in to investigate a haunting act committed against a worker, seemingly due to a debate about gun control and the presidency. A monkey tied with a noose and messages with racial slurs were found at Silar's desk the day after the group discussion.

Silar was vocal during an office space discussion following the school shooting in South Florida this month. Silar reported that the conversation eventually got heated and she felt the need to remove herself. She, then, started the new work day being called a "n****r b***h" and told, "You are getting deported back to Africa (n-word), and that will make America great again." The cowardly message was signed "Whites 4 Trump."

Luckily, Silar's work establishment has been very supportive of finding the culprit, so she decided to keep them anonymous. Regardless, she was rightfully shaken by the whole ordeal and admitted she, "didn't feel safe."

On the other hand, thanks to social media, Terri's story went viral capturing the attention of people worldwide. She's found solace in hearing similar stories from others.

“People have been very sympathetic, outraged and mortified like I was. People were telling me their stories of racism that they’ve had to deal with. I’ve had messages from people from the UK, the Netherlands, Australia; you name it. They’re all saying, 'I’ve experienced this.' To hear that made me feel I’m not alone.”
