Trippie Redd hasn't been rocking with Tekashi 6ix9ine for a minute, and he doesn't anticipate that the status of their relationship will change anytime soon. But that doesn't mean that as an artist he can't appreciate good music when he hears it, regardless of who might be responsible for putting it out. Such is the case concerning his affinity for at least one banger off of 6ix9ine's debut album, which the Canton rapper released a recording of himself vibing to on Friday, February 23.

"Just cause I listened to a song don't mean I like the n***a. We have a song together. If you think this lame, u lame. I still wanna beat his a**. lol," Trippie wrote in the caption of a video of him bumping Day69's closing track, "Chocolate."

Less than one year ago things were all good between Trippie and Tekashi. Until this day, the rainbow-haired Brooklyn rapper reminds his former collaborator that he helped him pivot with what he continues to boast is Trippie's biggest hit to date.

For anyone keeping track, Tekashi isn't exaggerating either. With 32 million Soundcloud views, "Poles1469" has outperformed all but "Love Scars/You Hurt Me," on the platform - and no Trippie Redd video comes close to the 64 million views Poles has amassed on Youtube (Love Scars comes in a distant second place with 33 million). Thus, the reason why Trippie makes a note of the song in justifying how he could manage to still give his nemesis burn.

Still, it is kind of awkward seeing Trippie promote a Tekashi song after all of the dirt that has been thrown back and forth since their falling out. Only those who've given the anticipated project the time of day can truly say whether or not it is a testament to exactly how hard the track is.
