A woman is under arrest after she tried to drive her vehicle into a security barrier at the White House. The incident caused a lockdown there for a half an hour. USA Today reports it happened at about 3:30 on Friday afternoon, while President Trump was inside. The Secret Service says the Commander-in-Chief was never in danger. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull was also inside but left a short time later. The Secret Service tweeted updates the entire time. One read, "No law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident involving a vehicle hitting a barrier near the White House."

An official told the publication that Jessica Rhea Ford of Tennessee rammed her car into the security barrier on purpose. At this point, no charges have been filed. Apparently, Ford is no stranger to authorities. Authorities in Rutherford and Davidson counties say that in the past, Ford had been brought up on charges of trespassing, violating probation and misusing 911.

The Secret Service has been kept on their toes recently with these types of incidents. There have been about 100 instances in the last three years where people tried to get into the White House. The Secret Service says 95% of those people have a history of mental illness or emotional disturbance.
