Da Brat shared an announcement that she will be part of a stage adaptation of the F. Gary Gray film Set It Off.

In the caption of a poster designed after the movie's original, the veteran Chicago rapper introduced the actresses who will be playing in the roles of Jada Pinkett Smith ("Linda 'Stony' Newsom"), Vivica A. Fox ("Francesca 'Frankie' Sutton"), and Kimberly Elise ("Tisean 'T.T.' Williams"). In no particular order, they are Kyla Pratt, Latoya Luckett, and Demetria McKinney. Da Brat will fill the role played by Queen Latifah ("Cleopatra 'Cleo' Sims").

Seeing how the promotion cites the New York Times calling the play "Extravagantly action-packed," it would appear that those planning on checking it out can anticipate the theatrical interpretation of the Kate Lanier and Takashi Bufford script being as close to the big screen version as one might imagine. They'll just have to wait and see.

The show hits the stage on Friday and Saturday, March 9th and 10th at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta and at the Warner Theatre in Washington DC on March 16th and 17th.
