Martial artist and actor Jackie Chan spoke about the potential of a fourth installment of the Rush Hour series back in October 2017. While on The Cruz show on LA's Power 106, he said the script was finished but that the film will only happen if co-star Chris Tucker agrees. Good news for fans, as Tucker finally confirmed that Rush Hour 4 is the works while he appeared on The Plug, an ESPN podcast.

One of the hosts of the podcast inquired with the comedian if he and Chan would bless fans with more from the Rush Hour series, Tucker finally replied with words moviegoers wanted to hear: "It's happening." Though he was unable to go into grave detail, he continued, "This is gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready, and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it."

Rush Hour premiered in 1998 and starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. The soundtrack to the original film featured JAY-Z’s “Can I Get A,” which became one of the biggest hits of his career and introduced Ja Rule to the world. Three years later in 2001, a sequel would drop that would add to the continual acclaim from fans and continuing to help elevate the series to the next level. Rush Hour 3 would take a bit longer to make as Chris stopped filming movies and changed the course of his life, leading to years of delay in the movie's production. It would later drop in 2007.
