It's the Year of the Dog, and people in China are currently celebrating the New Year; Wishing for good health, prosperity, and continued growth.

Unfortunately, a video has surfaced coming from the National Basketball Association where players were wishing their Chinese fans a happy Chinese New Year that went south as soon as Philadelphia 76ers guard, J.J. Reddick appeared onscreen.

During his portion of the video, Reddick can be heard stating the following, "I wish all of the NBA ch*nk fans of China a very happy Chinese New Year." Honestly, there's no reason why this statement should have made it past post-production in the NBATV studios but somehow it was broadcasted for the world to see which is unquestionably foul.

J.J. Reddick is currently averaging close to 17 points per game along with three assists which isn't half bad but, there's no room in the NBA or society for that matter to loosely throw around racial slurs in anyone's direction. Here's what Reddick had to say about his comments via Twitter:

Just saw a video that is being circulated of me wishing a happy new year to NBA fans in China. Clearly, I was tongue tied, as the word I purportedly said is not in my vocabulary. I’m disappointed that anyone would think I would use that word. I love & respect our friends in China.

Reddick claims he was tongue tied and really didn't formally apologize for his statement from what was said... Let us know if you think what Reddick said was intentional or not in the comment section below.
