Joel Embiid isn't only shooting his shot on the basketball court these days.

In 2014, Embiid was a fresh face to the Philadelphia 76ers team. While his sports dreams came true, his ambition also didn't falter in his love life. He made it known that he had a crush on a famous young lady, who turned out to be Rihanna. He tried his luck, but the bad gal told him, "Come back when you're an All-Star."

Embiid continued to move forward in his career and earned a position as a 2018 All-Star starter. In January, after a successful game against the Celtics, NBA on TNT caught the athlete before he hit the locker room. He was asked about his current feelings about pursuing RiRi since his upgraded status in the league. However, the player seemed to have a change of heart when it came on to his crush. "She denied me back then, so why go with her again? I might have to pass that and move on to the next one," said Embiid.

Well, turns out he's singing a different tune again. During an All-Star press conference, a reporter asked if he ever got Rihanna's number. Embiid initially attempted to avoid the question, but persistence always gets an answer. He admitted that he hasn't gotten her number yet, but it's still in the works. "We follow each other on Twitter, though, so I just gotta slide in her DM. I'm taking my time...It's a process," said Embiid.

Rihanna, of course, hasn't responded to any of this, but someone should break the news that she's apparently been dating billionaire, Hassan Jameel.
