Nipsey Hussle has had some of the most creative marketing campaigns in hip-hop over the years. Part of the promotion for his recently released album, Victory Lap, is a branded customized truck designed to look just like a Brinks Truck driving through Los Angeles.

It looks like local police officers aren't fans of the move. Earlier this week, the truck was towed by police after it was allegedly parked in a spot for people with disabilities, and having expired plates, according to a report from TMZ.

Nipsey denies the L.A.P.D.'s claims. In a video shot by TMZ, Nipsey says the police are "hating" on him and his promotional efforts. Sources close to the rapper is saying that the vehicle was actually towed from a private parking lot at his Marathon clothing store in L.A.

"One thing we don't respect is how the LAPD came through and took our Brink's truck," Nipsey said in an interview with a TMZ photographer. "We putting on for the city. We showing love. We raising the expectation of young n***as that come out the hood. And we don't understand why the police wanna hate on that."

He announced a contest on his Instagram account Friday involving the truck.

"JUS PULL UP TO PEPE’s TOWING AND TAKE A PIC BY THE ARMORED TRUCK AND HASHTAG #VICTORYLAP & #FREETHEBRINCKSTRUCK to enter the GIVEAWAY!!," he wrote. He then shared the address where the truck was being held. "WE GIVING AWAY A 14K Gold All Money In Chain And Piece for one lucky winner."
