Things are looking up for incarcerated rapper Meek Mill. He has officially been granted an appeal hearing scheduled for April. Meek's lawyers reportedly filed the necessary paperwork for a Post-Conviction Relief Act. The court will apparently take into consideration the recently uncovered reports detailing examples of police corruption.

Reginald Graham, the police officer who originally arrested Meek in 2007, has been listed on a list exposing corrupt cops. Another former officer, Jerold Gibson, has also shared a sworn affidavit in which he claims Graham lied about details in his initial report. Gibson says that Meek never pointed a gun at anyone during the time of his arrest, and didn't have any drugs on him.

Meek' head lawyer, Joe Tacopina, spoke with Billboard about the recent development and says he hopes to have him home on bail as soon as possible.

"It's mind-blowing, but it's also just par for the course in this case," Tacopina said. "You had a case where a judge gives a guy two to four years when the District Attorney and the probation officer (recommended) zero. In a case when the judge asked Meek to redo a Boyz II Men song and use her name in it... I mean it's just par for the friggin' course. It really is for this case. It's over the top. It's insane."

Looks like Meek may be home a lot sooner than expected.
