A brawl broke out at a high school basketball game on Tuesday in Pittsburgh. The game spiraled out of control into the fourth quarter between Monessen High School and Clairton High School. As the dispute turned into madness, parents, fans, and players got involved.

The authorities were eventually called to the scene to end the fight where they used pepper spray to separate the crowd. With just a little under five minutes left in the game, it was called off.

One parent at the game, Eric Fusco, reported to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette the appalling details of the brawl stating, "People were getting sucker-punched. I saw guys just getting picked off, the game was chippy from the start, but I didn't think this was going to happen. People have said they should ban both teams from the playoffs. I don't think that's going to solve anything. I think the fans are way more guilty than the players. You can't hold players responsible for what fans do."

The executive director of Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) called the incident "totally unacceptable" and asked that both schools explain themselves after the fact.

The police chief of Clairton said the incident is currently being investigated and the appropriate action will be taken.
