Pennslyvania rapper Lil Skies knows how to motivate himself. He first gained national attention after opening up for Fetty Wap and releasing a slew of Soundcloud singles that raked up views. Last month, Skies dropped his debut studio album Life of a Dark Rose.

The project debuted at number 23 on Billboard's Hot 200 chart, and peaked at the tenth position. The up-and-comers success can be attributed to his hustle, and in an interview with The Lyrical Lemonade, he admits that his tattoos helped him to succeed as well.

"I got all my face tats as motivation." Skies says. He continues on to state, "Every morning you gotta look at your face. You always look at your face." As Skies sits on a brown couch he elaborates further on his face tattoos and their effect on the people around him.

"People are always gonna look at me when I go somewhere. People are always gonna judge me, they're always gonna see me and be like, "what the f***. It's just something that I accepted," claims Lil Skies. "It was a challenge I was willing to take on," he continues. "It was something that I would say was like a sacrifice for my career."
