After watching him suit up in a mere 17 games alongside Lebron James the Cavaliers' front office decided on Thursday (February 8) that they had seen enough to know that Isaiah Thomas wasn't going to cut it in Cleveland. Just hours before the league reached it's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, it was reported that the Cavs had agreed to deal the two-time All-Star to the Lakers.

According to ESPN's NBA insider, Adrian Wojnarowski, Thomas is headed to Los Angeles in a package that includes center Channing Frye, and a 2018 first-round draft pick. In exchange, Cleveland will receive guard Jordan Clarkson and forward Larry Nance Jr. The stunning development comes only one day after Thomas told reporters that he was "tired of being traded" and had settled his heart in The Land.

"I like it here," Thomas said after Cleveland victory over Minnesota. "It hasn't been as planned, but I definitely want to be here. We definitely have a real chance to win an NBA championship and I want to be a part of that."

Since Thomas' return from a hip injury that kept him out of the lineup for the first quarter of the season, Thomas has shot a career-low 36.1 percent from the floor while averaging 14.7 points, 4.5 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game. And the Cavs have struggled to stay afloat - winning seven and losing ten - while waiting for the former Celtics star to meet the expectations they had for him coming into the season.
