ESPN sat down with Kobe Bryant and got him to expand on the emotions that were running through him as he watched his Philadelphia Eagles cap-off their first Super Bowl victory over the weekend.

Although a 20-year career with the Lakers has prompted the NBA great to plant his flag in Los Angeles, Bryant has long remained true to his Philly roots when it comes to the sports teams he roots for. That loyalty became glaringly apparent to many who came across video of him struggling to contain himself when the clock ran out on the Patriots' hopes of evening up the 41-33 final score.

"The spirit of the Eagle took a hold of me and I just could not contain myself. But I had to because I was holding my little one-year-old," Bryant said during an interview that the sports network put out on Wednesday, (Feb.7). Bryant admitted that although his youngest daughter Bianka Bella was in his hands, fear that Rob Gronkowski might have brought down Tom Brady's last ditched hail-mary was on his mind.

After all, Gronk had scored twice in the second half and with his hands and massive frame, is always New England's safest bet to lead the charge in the clutch. "I'm just thankful, honestly, that I didn't, like, tear a hamstring or something; jumping around," Bryant said.
