Former professional boxer Evander Holyfield has been served with two tax liens for unpaid state taxes in Georgia, as stated in a report obtained on Tuesday (February 6).

The first lien comes from the retired 55-year-old allegedly refusing to pay his $17,810 tax debt in 2011. Currently, the debt, along with interest, sits at $37,663.51. The second lien alleges that the retired boxing champion originally owed $18,000 from 2010 and 2012, but the amount has since grown to $39, 425.12.

According to the Georgia State courts, if Holyfield doesn’t pay up, his property and assets will begin being seized.

Holyfield was a boxer in the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions, standing at 6’1” and 226 pounds. He enjoyed a long career from 1984 to 2011.

A 2008 report by ESPN stated that at the time, the ex-champion boxer was already having financial troubles, reporting that his $10 million Atlanta estate was under foreclosure, and a Utah consulting company attempted to sue him for failing to pay back half a million dollars for landscaping. The boxer was also taken to court by the mother of one of his children, with the woman alleging that he was failing to contribute child support.

Though at one time, his net worth was in the millions, it's now reported to be about $500,000.
