Lil' Wayne has several enemies, and many people are gunning for him. Literally. Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, 25, is serving a ten-year prison sentence after opening fire on Lil' Wayne's tour bus in Atlanta in 2015.

After Wayne performed at the Compound nightclub, Winfrey rode up and committed the attempted drive-by to earn a higher ranking status in the Bloods. Also known as Peewee Roscoe, Winfrey was once Birdman's tour manager.

In an attempt to have his ten-year-sentence overturned, Winfrey is appealing the court's decision. His appeal will be heard by the Georgia Supreme Court, and Winfrey will argue that the judge who handled this hearing pressured him into taking a plea he would not have taken under proper consultation.

Prosecutors offered Winfrey plea deals that he was uncertain about due to the fact that pleading guilty to gang crimes could eradicate his chances of parole down the line.

Heading into the initial trial, the Supreme Court states that the judge told Winfrey, “This opportunity is going away. Go to trial, and you get convicted, there’s not going to be any of me being concerned about when you parole out.”

Winfrey's lawyers state that the “twice-counseled decision for trial was thwarted when the trial judge engaged Winfrey directly, expressed distaste for the charges.” and that the judge tried to “dissuade Winfrey from his not guilty plea.”
