Philadelphia police took to the streets in anticipated that Eagles fans would be in their glory after watching their team come out on top of the defending champion New England Patriots with a 41-33 victory in Super Bowl XII, but the presence of law enforcement didn't stop the rowdiest of them from destroying property in numerous sections of the city.

Some of the video clips that have circulated social media to show Philadelphians in celebration over the franchise receiving its very first Vince Lombardi trophy - bear evidence of extreme acts of vandalism. While some of the city's citizens drove through the streets honking horns and erecting from windows and sunroofs to amp the energy up, others took their passion out on vehicles that apparently happened to be parked in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Officers were forced to respond to reports of a car that was set on fire near Temple University, for example, while a crowd of fans outside of the Bellevue hotel were recorded as they worked together to flip a car over. Despite the various isolated incidents of destruction, local government seems committed to focusing on the positivity that filled the air in the city.

"Tens of thousands came out and celebrated this amazing victory last night, and but for a handful of bad actors the celebration was peaceful and jubilant. There were only 3 arrests," a statement issued by the mayor's office on Monday, February 5, read.
