Kevin Hart could have been spared the embarrassment that came with millions of viewers catching a glimpse of security blocking him from the Lombardi Trophy presentation, following the Eagles 41-33 win over the Patriots in Super Bowl XII, but he just didn't listen.

According to the Philly-born comedian, wife Eniko Parish did warn him to stay away from the stage set up for the NFL champs, midfield at U.S. Bank Stadium - but he had had one drink too many, and the alcohol took over.

In an Instagram post that he scribed to address the media's coverage of the incident, Hart used the humiliating experience as an opportunity to preach sobriety to the youth.

To all the kids out there, I just wanna say don’t drink. You know, when alcohol is in your system, you do dumb stuff. Me trying to go on-stage with the trophy is definitely in the top two stupidest things I’ve done in my life," Hart told his followers on Monday, February 5.

He then shed some light on how the incident unfolded and gave a detailed account of what viewers didn't hear during his encounter with the guard who prevented him from advancing. "My wife was the first one to tell me, ‘Babe, don’t go up there.’ I told my wife, ‘Nah, honey, chill out. I got to be up there with my city.’ It didn’t work out. Man did his job. He said, ‘Kevin Hart, I know who you are, but I can’t let you up here.’ … I went to walk; he put his hand on my chest. Who gives a sh*t? Go Eagles. Fly Eagles fly,” he wrote.
