In a now-deleted post, XXXTentacion shared his admiration for J. Cole, which many saw as surprising, seeing as how many people thought X took a shot at Cole in his XXL Freshman freestyle.
In the freestyle, X raps, "Don't understand why J. Cole talkin' 'bout false prophets/But didn't mention higher-ups/Change your name to Amber Cole/These f***ing entertainers is playing it by the rules/ Sucking government d*** for safety to stay cool."
In a lengthy Instagram post, XXXTentacion addressed J. Cole about science and spirituality, which was seemingly a response to Cole's "No Jumper" interview, where he shared his thoughts on religion and evolution. In the end, X wrote, "Continue to lead, you and Kendrick have always inspired me."
