Russell Simmons was hit with numerous allegations of rape or sexual assault by more than a handful of women. Now, a 37-year-old woman is alleging that the mogul raped her at his Los Angeles mansion in 2016 where they were meeting to discuss making her female empowerment documentary. Simmons offered to finance, co-produce, and to be interviewed for the project.

Jennifer Jarosik, the alleged victim, filed a lawsuit against Simmons on Wednesday (January 24), where she accuses him of raping her two years ago in August. She is seeking $5 million and says she bonded with Simmons over their shared interest in "meditation, yoga, and a vegan diet." In her lawsuit, Jarosik accuses Simmons of upholding the "sexual exploitation of women (that) is pervasive in the hip hop and music industry culture."

Jarosik claimed in August 2016, during the meeting at his home Russell asked that they have sex, to which she allegedly declined. The lawsuit claims that " Mr. Simmons got aggressive and pushed (Jarosik) on his bed." Even after she claims to try and force Simmons to "stay away from her," he is reported to have reacted by knocking her off the bed and jumping on top of her and allegedly raped her after she hit her head.

Jarosik is reported to only have confided about the incident to a few people, and that she know chose to come forward after hearing the eerily similar stories from at least a dozen women who allege they were assaulted by the Def Jam co-founder.

Simmons is maintaining his innocence through all the allegations and took a lie detector test to clear his name in a previous incident.
