TDE songstress SZA received much recognition last year after the release of her project CTRL. Many of the songs on the sultry album became the backdrops for viral moments including "The Weekend," "Love Galore," and "Supermodel." SZA recently sat down with GQ to speak about the process of making "Supermodel," from the lyrics to the production and working with Pharrell on the simple song. She even gives a little tidbit on how she ignored Kendrick's take on the song and followed her gut knowing people would gravitate towards the record.

When it came time to pick the songs that would make the final cut on the album, SZA says she considered "Supermodel" to be "pretty aiight." However, her labelmate "Kendrick was like 'this is an album cut, and this should be at the end," she says. Despite that, SZA says she believed in the song and how different it was, and after sharing it with "the meanest person" she knew and getting positive feedback, she went with her gut and added it to the tracklist.

Listen to SZA detail her process, and express her humility with her newfound recognition. Hear her talk about K. Dot at the 4:30 mark. The TDE conglomerate is going on tour this coming year with the acts from the label check out the tour dates.
